If you want the most established Orange County plumber, Professional Plumbing is a veteran-owned, family-run company that has served the county since 1985 and completed more than 36,900 jobs across it. We do water heaters, drains and sewers, slab leaks, gas lines, repairs, fixtures, and commercial plumbing, with one promise on every job in every city: a written price before any repair work begins, an honest answer about what your home actually needs, and a real person on the phone, not a call center.

Key takeaways

  • Family-owned, veteran-owned Orange County plumber, in business since 1985.
  • Five Orange County offices, with trucks running the county every day.
  • Emergencies answered 24/7, with the price in writing before repair work begins.
  • Licensed (CSLB #517514, C-36), bonded, insured, and a 2026 BBB Torch Awards for Ethics finalist.
  • Pick your city below for a local number, neighborhoods, and reviews.

By the numbers. Since 1985, Professional Plumbing has completed more than 36,900 plumbing jobs across Orange County. Since 2018 alone, that work includes 267 water heaters (231 gas, 34 electric) and 225 garbage disposals. Orange County tap water runs roughly 8 to 19 grains per gallon, averaging about 13 (Municipal Water District of Orange County), which is why hard-water wear on heaters, valves, and fixtures shows up in so much of what we do.

Who we are

I am William "Jay" Horsky Jr., the owner. I started Professional Plumbing in 1985 out of a single pickup truck. More than 40 years later it is still family-run, and the standard has not changed: tell the customer the truth, put the price in writing, and stand behind the work. Before plumbing I served four years in the U.S. Navy, including time in the Navy's nuclear power program. I came out wanting to work with my hands and stay close to my customers, and that is still how the company runs.

We run our main office at 17150 Newhope Street #401 in Fountain Valley, with offices in Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, and Newport Beach, and we work across all of Orange County. Regular hours are Monday through Saturday, 8 to 5, and we keep a line open 24 hours a day for emergencies. The company is licensed by the California Contractors State License Board (license number 517514, classification C-36, current and active since 1987), was incorporated as Professional Plumbing, Inc. in 2001, and is bonded and insured.

Why Orange County homeowners choose us

Every Orange County plumber says they are honest and fair. Here is what that looks like when you call us.

  • Upfront written pricing. You get the price in writing before any repair work begins, and you approve it first. If we open it up and the job needs more, we stop, talk it through, and update the written price before we continue.
  • A free second opinion. If you have a written quote from another company for major work and want a second opinion, we do it at no charge. We verify the diagnosis, and if the other company is right, we tell you so. See our free second opinion page.
  • A one-year warranty on the parts we supply and on our labor for the work we do.
  • Around the clock, with free estimates by day. We answer 24 hours a day, every day of the year. On-site estimates are free during business hours for work we can see and price on the spot; after-hours and Sunday visits are quoted up front before we begin.
  • A discount for those who serve. We extend a 10% discount to veterans, seniors, and first responders.
  • Financing on larger jobs is available through Wisetack for qualified customers, so a water heater or repipe does not have to be paid all at once.

A job that explains how we work

Not long ago a homeowner called us for a free second opinion. Another company had quoted them a full repipe of the house. I sent a tech out, we ran the diagnosis ourselves, and the real problem was a single failed section of line, not the whole home. We showed them what we found, fixed the one section, and they kept the rest of their money. That's the whole reason we started doing free second opinions, and it's the kind of call I like getting.

Honest pricing, countywide

We do not publish flat prices, because no two jobs are the same. Your repair may be simpler than the same job at another house, and there is no reason you should pay the same for the easier one. We look at what is actually in front of us, put the full price in writing before any repair work begins, and let you approve it first. If you have a quote from another company for major work, our free second opinion is there. Call or ask for details.

Giving back to the county

We have been part of this community for 40 years and try to give back where we can. Over the years that has included the Hauntington Beach Manor charity haunted house, which ran for about ten years, and more recently a pair of Thanksgiving dinners for local families each year. We support the chambers of commerce in the cities we serve and pitch in on local toy drives and food drives. The causes we have given to include Children's Hospital of Orange County, Patriots and Paws, WAGS of Westminster, Scripps cancer research, the American Cancer Society, Parkinson's research, the First Harvest Food Bank, and the Huntington Beach Police Benevolent Fund, to name a few.

How a service call works

When you call, you reach me or my sister Liz, not a call center. It is one of us, every time. If it is a question I can answer over the phone, I am always happy to do that, or to call you back as soon as I am free. Otherwise we work through what you are seeing and schedule a visit. The on-site estimate is free during business hours for work we can see and price on the spot, and the price is in writing before any repair work begins. We give a two-hour arrival window and call when the truck is on the way, usually 20 to 30 minutes out. If the problem turns out to be something simple you can handle yourself, we will tell you that.
